‘This Business Is Quick Money’ – Man Who Planned To Sell Eyeball For N250K.

Police in Niger State have apprehended a 35-year-old man, Shuaibu Ibrahim, for being in possession of a human eyeball. Ibrahim, who hails from Safiu village in Toto Local Government of Nasarawa State, told the police the eyeball was to be sold for N250,000.
According to police report, the suspect was arrested in the early hours of yesterday by police detectives attached to Gawu-Babangida Division in Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State, while on routine patrol. It was learnt that the eyeball was removed from a victim during a communal clash between Igbira and Bassa people in Nasarawa State.
It was also learnt that one of Ibrahim’s accomplices, identified simply as Ojo, now at large, gave the eyeball to the suspect to sell in Niger State for N250,000 before he met his waterloo.
Investigation showed that the suspect had been trafficking human parts to other states in the North to make quick money.
Responding to questions, the suspect said that he was the intermediary be-tween Ojo and the buyers of human parts, a business he had been doing for over five years. He said: “My duty is to deliver human parts given to me by Ojo to his clients across the northern states.
We make quick money in this business but I cannot tell what the buyers are using it for. “A lot of people are interested in buying human parts. But honestly speaking, I don’t know what they use it for; my duty is to deliver as at when due to our clients and collect the money involved.” Asked whether the buyers use the human parts for ritual purposes, Ibrahim said “they must be using it for something; frankly speaking I don’t know. My duty was to carry out the order of my boss (Ojo) to his clients. “I don’t even ask clients what they are using the human eyeballs to do, but I guess it must be for something serious.”
While confirming the incident, the state Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muhammad Abubakar, said Ibrahim’s arrest followed information from a member of the public, who drew the attention of the detectives to the suspect. Abubakar said the suspect confessed that the eyeball, which was meant to be sold at N250,000, was gotten from Nasarawa State during a communal clash in the area. The PPRO added that the matter would soon be charged to court after investigation.

Unilever Boss Steps Down After Headquarters Move To Fiasco

Unilever chief Paul Polman is “retiring” from the consumer giant, the firm said on Thursday, a month after it was forced to ditch a controversial post-Brexit plan to move its headquarters from London to the Netherlands.
The Anglo-Dutch group, the maker of iconic brands like Marmite and Dove soap, will be headed from January by Alan Jope, the current chief of its huge beauty and personal care department.
“Unilever today announced that CEO Paul Polman has decided to retire from the company,” the company said in a statement, adding that he had been in the post for 10 years.
Polman, 62, tweeted that he had decided to “step down from my role as CEO”, adding: “It’s been a great honor to lead this team for the past 10 years and together build a sustainable business that has made a difference to millions of lives.”
“I have no doubts that I will be leaving the company in excellent hands. Under Alan’s leadership, Unilever is well-placed to prosper long into the future.”
Neither Unilever nor Polman made any mention of the headquarters plan, but his position had been in doubt since it fell through on October 5.
Unilever had faced mounting opposition from key shareholders, including Aviva Investors, Royal London, Columbia Threadneedle, Legal & General Investment Management, Lindsell Train, M&G Investments and Brewin Dolphin.
Many were angry that the plan would have ended Unilever’s dual listing on the London and Amsterdam stock exchanges, meaning that many would have had to sell shares in Britain.
The group had originally unveiled the planned switch in March in a symbolic decision that was largely interpreted by analysts as a blow to post-Brexit Britain.
It also followed a failed hostile bid by US rival Kraft Heinz last year, which analysts said played a key role in Unilever’s decision as the Netherlands has stronger rules to protect companies against takeovers.
Jope, who currently leads the firm’s largest division, said it would be a “huge privilege to lead Unilever”.
Polman is due to retire as CEO on December 31 but will stay at the company for six months working on the transition with Jope, the firm said.

See photos of the orangutan that was forced to become a sex slave and sleep with men on a daily basis

An orangutan who was forced to become a sex slave and sleep with men on a daily basis has finally undergone rehabilitation after it was rescued from its kidnapper in an Indonesian village.

The endangered Bornean orangutan named, Pony, was reportedly discovered in February 2003 inside a darkened room in the village of Kareng Pangi, Central Kalimantan chained to a wall and lying on a mattress.
The orangutan who was taken away from her mother when she was a baby, was abused for years by local palm oil farmers coming into the village to pay £2 each to have sex with her.
According to Mai Online, the brothel madam who kept her in the dark room treated her extremely harshly, shaved her every two days and forced her to wear perfume and makeup. She was even taught to perform sex acts on demand for her customers.
Due to the harsh treatments on Pony, whenever her brothel madam who kept her captive visited her in a rescue centre, she would 'scream and defecate' continually.
Michelle Desilets, director of the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation UK when Pony was rescued, told The Mirror: 'My friend Lone [Droscher-Nielson], who rescued Pony, had to bring in 30 army officers when she was seized.
'Afterwards, the madam visited Pony on a monthly arrangement to reduce the risk of retribution.
'But every time Pony saw her she would scream and defecate again and again. We were forced to increase security and put a stop to the visits.'
Lone Droscher-Nielson, who was part of the team who rescued Pony in 2003, told the Sun: 'When I found that she was used for prostitution and not just a pet I was horrified.
'Perhaps in my naivety I had never thought it humanly possible to do such a thing to an animal.'

While Michelle Desilets, director of the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation, told VICE back in 2007: 'They [the farm workers] would come in especially for [her].
'You could choose a human if you preferred, but it was a novelty for many of the men to have sex with an orangutan.'
According to Michelle, her owners were reluctant to let Pony go when the team initially tried to rescue her and even threatened them with machetes.
'She was being used as a sex slave,' Michelle added, 'She was probably about six or seven years old when we rescued her, but she had been held captive by the madam for a long time.'

He explained that it took 35 policemen armed with AK-47s  going in there and demanding that they hand over Pony.  From the brothel, she was taken to a nearby orangutan sanctuary run by the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation.
She slowly recovered and male carers were slowly introduced to her,' Lone continued, 'She didn't seem to be afraid of them anymore and she was happy with any company she could have. Eventually, she was moved to one of the islands.'
According to the report, Pony is now in good health 15 years on from her ordeal, and now lives in an enclosure in Nyaru Menteng Rehabilitation Centre with seven other orangutans.

Facebook and its ‘black people problem’

When it rains, it pours - and Facebook’s utterly sodden year continues to be flooded by accusations of bad governance.
Mark Luckie, a black, former Facebook employee whose job it was to handle the firm’s relationship with “influencers”, put it quite plainly: “Facebook has a black people problem.”
His 2,500-word note, posted on Tuesday, outlines what he sees as a culture that talks about inclusion, but does not practise it. In some buildings at the company, Mr Luckie said, there were “more ‘Black Lives Matter’ posters than there are actual black people”.
He goes on to outline how he, and other black employees, often felt uncomfortable at work. “Black staffers at Facebook know that by raising our voices we risk jeopardizing our professional relationships and our career advancement,” he wrote.
Beyond those who work for Mark Zuckerberg, Mr Luckie said he felt Facebook’s black users are also being unfairly treated.
“Black people are finding that their attempts to create ‘safe spaces’ on Facebook for conversation among themselves are being derailed by the platform itself.
“Non-black people are reporting what are meant to be positive efforts as hate speech, despite them often not violating Facebook’s terms of service.”
Mr Luckie’s comments rippled around social media. And what followed next fell into line with what’s now a familiar pattern: Facebook puts out a conciliatory statement, only to have it later undermined by leaks of internal discussions that seem to show a different picture.
'Self-serving'
First came the public statement, from Facebook spokesman Anthony Harrison.
“The growth in representation of people from more diverse groups, working in many different functions across the company, is a key driver of our ability to succeed.
“We want to fully support all employees when there are issues reported and when there may be micro-behaviours that add up. We are going to keep doing all we can to be a truly inclusive company.”
But then, the internal leak. While Mr Luckie’s post was made public on Tuesday, it had been circulated at Facebook on 8 November. At that time it received a response from Ime Archibong, Facebook’s director of product partnerships.
On Tuesday, Mr Luckie, posted that response on Twitter suggesting Facebook’s tone publicly did not necessarily match what was said to him internally.
Mr Luckie seemed to attempt to protect Mr Archibong’s identity by blurring his name and picture, but missed one mention of “Ime” elsewhere on the screen, revealing the source. Mr Archibong - who is also black - has confirmed he wrote the comments.
He described Mr Luckie’s note as “pretty self-serving and disingenuous” and accused him of having a “selfish agenda and not one that has the best intentions of the community and people you likely consider friends at heart”.
Everyone is, naturally, entitled to their opinion. And Mr Archibong was speaking for himself, not the company. And, as is always the case in a huge company, everyone’s experience could be different, and the examples given anecdotal.
But this whole furore again reignites the perception that Facebook is more preoccupied with not looking bad, rather than assessing if it is doing bad. Containment over contrition.
The bottom line is that the statistics tell enough of a story: Facebook’s community of 2.7bn users is run by a workforce where black people make up just 4% - or 1% if you’re looking specifically at developer roles. There’s nothing anecdotal about that.

Lion Air crash: Investigators say plane was 'not airworthy'

Indonesian investigators have said the Lion Air plane that crashed last month killing 189 people was not airworthy and should have been grounded.
The Boeing 737 Max plane crashed into the Java Sea shortly after departing from Jakarta on 29 October.
A preliminary report has found technical problems had been reported on previous flights.
The 737 Max is a new version of Boeing's original 737 and has become its fastest selling plane.
The preliminary report details what is known by authorities about the short time the plane was in the air, but investigators said it did not give a definitive cause for the accident.

What's in the report?

The findings by the National Transport Safety Committee (KNKT) suggest that Lion Air put the plane back into service despite it having had problems on earlier flights.
The pilots appeared to struggle with an automated system designed to keep the plane from stalling - a new feature in the 737 Max family.
Anti-stall systems prevent a plane from pointing upwards at too high an angle, where it could lose its lift.
However, during the 29 October flight, the plane's automatic anti-stalling system repeatedly forced the plane's nose down, even when the plane was not stalling - possibly due to a faulty sensor, the report said.
Pilots tried to correct this by pointing the nose higher, until the system pushed it down again. This happened more than 20 times.
It is unclear why the pilots did not employ procedures to disable the automated system.
Nurcahyo Utomo, aviation head at the National Transport Safety Committee, said it was "too early to conclude" whether the anti-stall system had contributed to the crash.
He added that the plane experienced similar problems during its previous flight from Denpasar in Bali to Jakarta.
"In our opinion, the plane was no longer airworthy and it should not have continued," he said. The committee's report itself, though, does not spell out that conclusion.
The report said that Lion Air's safety culture should be improved and the airline should ensure the operations manual is followed "in order to improve the safety culture".
It also says the carrier must ensure "all operations documents are properly filled and documented".

What does Boeing say?

In a statement, plane manufacturer Boeing said that it was "deeply saddened" by the loss of the Lion Air flight.
"As our customers and their passengers continue to fly the 737 Max to hundreds of destinations around the world every day, they have our assurance that the 737 Max is as safe as any airplane that has ever flown in the skies."
Boeing said that "the appropriate procedure to address unintended horizontal stabiliser movement" was contained in the relevant flight manuals.
It said that the preliminary report showed that the correct procedures to counter the plane's nose being pushed down were carried out during the Denpasar flight the day before the crash.
However, it was not clear if they procedures were followed during the 29 October flight that crashed, Boeing added.
In an interview with the BBC, KNKT aviation head Nurcahyo Utomo appeared to dispute Boeing's account about the flight manuals.
"We haven't found the information in the manual relevant to the new feature to the 737- MAX, related to the feature for the stall prevention system," he said.
Some pilots have also complained that they were not given all the relevant information about the differences between the latest anti-stall system, and older models, US media report.

How did the 29 October crash unfold?

The plane was making a one-hour journey to the western city of Pangkal Pinang when it went down.
The jet crashed following a request from the pilot for permission to turn back to the airport minutes after taking off from Jakarta.
Investigators had previously revealed that the plane, on previous flights, had experienced technical problems related to airspeed and altitude readings.
Therefore the "angle-of-attack" sensor, which contributes to those readings, had been changed the day before the crash.

"Leave My Office" - Gov Obaseki walks out electricity boss over darkness in Edo State

There was mild drama at the office of the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki on Tuesday as the governor walked the Managing Director (MD) of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), Mrs. Funke Osibodu, out of his office for failing to meet obligations to electricity consumers in Edo and throwing the state into darkness for weeks.

This happened when the governor received members of the House of Reps Committee on Power led by Hon. Daniel Asuquo, who were in Government House, on a courtesy visit.

The governor was surprised to see the BEDC boss, whose name was not on the list of expected guests to Government House, but embedded herself in the National Assembly delegation, to gain access to the governor, who has been in darkness alongside millions of Edo State residents, for weeks.

Speaking to the delegation after Mrs. Osibodu had left the gathering, the governor said BEDC has continued to fail in collaborating with the state government to provide stable electricity in the state, instead the company has posed as an obstacle to meeting the goal.

“BEDC has been an obstacle all the way. They will not provide electricity and will not allow you to get alternative sources of power. The state will not allow it,” the governor said.

According to him, “As Governor of Edo State, we have lost confidence in BEDC. We don’t want them here. We are in darkness. Let us remain in darkness until we find people who are capable of delivering electricity. This is our position.”

The governor said despite the fact that the state generates about 600 to 700 megawatts of electricity, the people are still in darkness, wondering how he is expected to explain the irony to the people, who are well aware that they produce a substantial amount of electricity in the country.

He noted that BEDC has failed to recognise that they have to be patriotic and responsible to the state and the country but instead they have been noncommittal about the issue of power distribution.

“To assist, we set up electricity committee across the local government areas chaired by the Deputy Governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, with BEDC as member to understand the challenge. But BEDC frustrated our resolve to finding a lasting solution to the issue of providing electricity to our people.”

Earlier, Chairman of the House of Reps Committee on Power, Hon. Daniel Asuquo, said they were in the state for an oversight function on the activities of BEDC and other players in the electricity value chain.

He said Edo State consumes half of daily power supply under the BEDC, noting that the state has the highest number of consumers on the network, which makes it critical to engage with the governor and people of the state on the level of service delivery by players in the value chain.

“We are here to see how to intervene to ensure that you deliver on your electioneering promises to the people of Edo State as you are answerable to them,” Hon. Asuquo said.

Prof Ahaneku said the establishment of the teaching point is in line with his administration’s resolve to give the Chinese programme a national outlook. He urged the people of Ebonyi State to utilise the opportunity that the programme offers.
Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, who graced the event, donated an executive Peugeot 506 car to the institute to assist Chinese teachers discharge their duties.
The provost, Prof Mgbada, expressed joy on the fruition of the MoU, which, according to her, appeared impossible at the outset. She praised the VC for his tenacity, which, she said, led to the success of the partnership.
Prof Mgbada assured the VC of the college’s resolve to abide by the regulations of Hanban – Confucius Institute headquarters. Being the first non-affiliated institution to be accorded the privilege, the provost said the college would live up to expectation.
In the entourage of the VC to Ishiagu include the Deputy VC for Academics, Prof Charles Esimone, his counterpart in Administration, Prof Carol Arinze-Umobi, UNIZIK Director of Public Relations, Dr Emmanuel Ojukwu, and some staff of the institute led by their Director, Prof Yu Job.

Receiving the team led by Prof Wang Jun Wen, Prof Ahaneku, said the visit would open opportunities for collaboration with the university, especially in the area of medicine.
Prof Wang thanked the VC for his support to the institute, expressing optimism that the partnership would yield good fruit.
The event featured variety of Chinese music, drama, kung fu and martial arts presentations from the TCM contingent and students of Confucius Institute.

Top 10 richest Pastors in Nigeria number 2 will shock you

Religion is huge in Nigeria, and Christianity, one of the major religions in the country has tens of millions of followers.
Every Sunday, these adherents troop to churches to sing, dance and worship God. They also give offerings, pay 10 percent of their earnings as tithes and sow seeds for the proliferation of the gospel.
We are not saying these monies go to the pockets of these listed pastors (some of them run other businesses besides the church), but these are the richest pastors in Nigeria, and their estimated net worth.

10. Lazarus Muoka

Members of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Church are some of the most radical Christians in Nigeria, and Lazarus Muoka is their leader.
The minister, known for his miracles and radical teaching has investments in publishing companies, schools and real estate properties. He is worth an estimated $4 million.

9. Bishop Mike Okonkwo

With over 200 branches all over Nigeria, The Redeemed Evangelical Mission is one of the popular Pentecostal churches in Nigeria, and Bishop Mike Okonkwo is the founder and presiding Bishop.
An astute speaker of the word, the former banker owns a private jet and has several investments in the real estate business. He is worth an estimated $5 million.

8. Ayodele Oritsejafor

Ayodele Joseph Oritsegbubemi Oritsejafor, known as Papa Ayo Oritsejafor, is the founding and Senior Pastor of Word of Life Bible Church, located in Warri, Nigeria.
He became the national president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria on February 7, 2005, a position he held for five years. He is worth $130 million.

7. Chris Okotie

If you’re going to the Household of God Church International where Pastor Chris Okotie is the number one man, better go there with a dictionary so you won’t be flabber whelmed and overghasted by the grammar his vocal chords effuse.
The former pop star, politician, televangelist and pastor has run for the presidency of Nigeria 3 times – in 2003, under the Justice Party; in 2007 and 2011, under the Fresh Democratic party.
It is un-Christianly to say he lost all 3 elections, so let’s just say someone else became president all 3 times. He is worth an estimated 10 million dollars.

6. Matthew Ashimolowo

Matthew Ashimolowo, the senior pastor of Kingsway International Christian Center has swag … simple and short.

Despite the fact that his UK based church – through one of its charities – was once enmeshed in financial misconduct and mismanagement controversies, Pastor Matthew who has interests in media and sells Christian literature books and documentaries has an estimated net worth of $17 million and earns a salary of $200,000 annually. Swag!

5. Prophet T.B Joshua

You won’t be wrong if you call Temitope Balogun Joshua the most popular prophet in Nigeria.
The 53-year-old clergyman is the founder and leader of the Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN), a Lagos based church where wonders of all sorts – from healing to casting out demons – allegedly happen every Sunday.
Also known for his sometimes accurate prophesies; T B Joshua’s church has become a Mecca for miracle seekers, who come in droves from all over the world.
Despite being disclaimed by the Christian Association of Nigeria, the prophet has gone on to touch lives through the charity arm of his church, bag an OFR from the FG of Nigeria (2008) and amassed an estimated net worth of $25 million. In your face haters!

4. Pastor E.A Adeboye

With over 5 million members in its fold, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is the church with the largest population in Nigeria, and Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye fondly called Daddy GO is its General Overseer.
Known for having branches within walking distance of each other, the church has established its place as the most popular Pentecostal church in Nigeria.
It is headquartered at the Redemption Camp, a sprawling complex that reportedly cost $700 million to construct.
The church also has a University (Redeemers University), a high school, private jets, hospitals, a TV station, printing press and so on.
It was once said that Pastor Adeboye who just retired as the Nigerian GO of RCCG is worth $130million, but it is more in the region 30 to 40 million dollars.

3. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Founder and Senior Pastor of Believers Love World, aka Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has an estimated net worth of $60 million.
He owns TV channels, a printing and publishing establishment, hotels, real estate properties, a Healing school, and a social networking website called Yookoos.
With millions of followers, Pastor Chris is the 3rd richest pastor in Nigeria.

2. Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Edeh

With an estimated net worth of $90 million, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Edeh is the second wealthiest pastor in Nigeria.
He owns Madonna University, Caritas University, a micro finance bank, health institutions, a production company, etc.
He is the founder of the Pilgrimage Centre of Eucharistic Adoration, a religious congregation that runs clinics and homes for orphans, the sick, the disabled, and the mentally ill. They also run soup kitchens, schools, counseling and conflict resolution programs.
Father Edeh has been the recipient of several honors including the Nigerian Order of the Federal Republic (OFR), an award he received in 2008 in recognition of his contributions to the advancement of education in Nigeria, conflict resolution and charity works.

1. Bishop David Oyedepo

Bishop David Oyedepo is the richest pastor in the world. He is the founder and presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church, popularly called Winner’s Chapel.
He owns Covenant University and Landmark University, four private jets (used by senior members of the church too), a thriving publishing business and the one-time largest church auditorium in the world – which seats 50,000 people at a time and can accommodate 250,000.
He also hosts the yearly Shiloh program that is followed by millions of people worldwide. With an estimated net worth of $160 million, Papa as he is fondly called is indeed blessed.
